Privacy notice
This notice explains what happens to the information you share when you contact me through this website.
Last updated: October 2026
Who I am
This website is run by Dan Korcu, a self-employed personal trainer trading as Dan Korcu Personal Training, based in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. I am responsible for the personal information you send me through this website (the "data controller").
You can contact me about your information at dankorcu@gmail.com.
What information I collect
If you send an enquiry using the form on this website, I collect:
- your name
- your email address
- the service you're interested in, if you choose one
- anything you write in your message
If you contact me by email or WhatsApp instead, I'll receive the details you choose to send, such as your name, email address or phone number and your message.
Please don't include detailed medical or health information in your first enquiry. If it's relevant to your training, we can discuss it later.
Why I use it
I use your information to read and reply to your enquiry, answer your questions and, if you'd like to go ahead, discuss getting started with personal training or online coaching. I won't use it for marketing or share it with anyone for their own marketing.
My lawful basis
I process your enquiry because it's necessary to take steps at your request before we potentially enter into an agreement for training, and because I have a legitimate interest in responding to people who contact me about my services.
Who processes your information for me
I use a small number of trusted services to run this website and handle enquiries:
- Netlify hosts this website and receives and stores form submissions on my behalf. Netlify may also keep basic technical information, such as your IP address, in server logs for security and to keep the website running.
- Google (Gmail) is used for my email, so enquiry notifications and email conversations are stored in my Gmail account.
- WhatsApp is used only if you choose to message me there.
Some of these providers may store or process information outside the UK. Where they do, they are responsible for using appropriate safeguards required by UK data protection law.
How long I keep it
I keep enquiry information only for as long as I need it to deal with your enquiry. If you don't go on to become a client, I'll delete your enquiry once it's no longer needed. If you do become a client, your information will be handled as part of our ongoing coaching arrangement.
Cookies
This website does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information I hold about you
- ask me to correct information that's wrong or incomplete
- ask me to delete your information
- object to, or ask me to restrict, how I use your information
- ask for your information to be transferred to you or someone else, in some circumstances
To use any of these rights, email me at dankorcu@gmail.com. I'll respond within one month, as required by law.
Making a complaint
If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, please contact me first and I'll do my best to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
